
Product Manager - Cash Transformation (18 Months Fixed Term Contract)
You will partner closely with Store Operations, Finance, Treasury, Security, Technology and supplier partners to modernise the way cash is managed across our stores. Your focus will be on reducing operational costs, improving colleague productivity, simplifying cash processes, strengthening controls and ensuring the long-term sustainability of Tesco's cash ecosystem.
You will be responsible for defining product strategy, prioritising investment, balancing business and operational needs, and delivering technology solutions that support cash management, cash office operations, cash visibility, forecasting, CIT integrations and future cash transformation opportunities across the UK, ROI and Central Europe.
This role will play a critical part in delivering Tesco's Group Cash Transformation strategy and ensuring stores have modern, efficient and scalable cash management capabilities.

Evolve and drive the product vision, strategy and long-term roadmap for Cash Transformation and Cash Services products, managing stakeholder expectations and dependencies across multiple business and technology teams.
Proactively partner with peers and senior stakeholders to define the future direction of Tesco's cash technology strategy as part of the wider Group Store Technology roadmap.
Understand store colleague, operational, finance and security personas and develop a deep understanding of their challenges, pain points and desired outcomes.
Be accountable for the performance, adoption and value realisation of cash products and services and work towards achieving agreed Outcomes and Key Results (OKRs).
Prioritise investment, features and engineering effort whilst balancing customer value, operational benefit, compliance requirements, technical complexity and financial return.
Understand and confidently communicate all product capabilities to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Write user stories, manage product backlogs and maintain clear priorities aligned to strategic objectives.
Effectively document and communicate requirements to Engineering teams using user stories and acceptance criteria.
Support engineering teams in breaking large initiatives into manageable increments that deliver value faster.
Lead release planning, sprint planning and prioritisation activities alongside Engineering Managers and software teams.
Drive adoption, engagement and continuous improvement of cash management products and services.
Lead discovery activities for new capabilities, partnering with UX, Engineering, Data and operational stakeholders to define and validate Minimum Viable Products (MVPs).
Prioritise, coordinate and communicate the resolution of live product issues and service incidents independently.
Provide leadership and direction to cross-functional teams on short-term priorities and longer-term strategic objectives.
Work directly with store colleagues, operational teams, treasury, finance and security stakeholders to define problem statements and business requirements.
Own the simplification and transformation of cash management processes within Tesco stores across the UK, ROI and Central Europe.
Work with Product Managers across Platform, Infrastructure, Payments, Finance and Enterprise Technology teams to deliver integrated end-to-end solutions.
Collaborate with Engineering teams to develop scalable, secure and repeatable solutions that can be leveraged across multiple markets.
Partner with Architecture, Security and Data teams to ensure solutions meet enterprise standards, regulatory obligations and long-term technology strategy.
Work closely with suppliers, cash management providers and Cash-In-Transit (CIT) partners to drive successful service delivery and continuous improvement.
Monitor industry trends, emerging payment technologies, retail cash management solutions and competitor activity to identify innovation opportunities.
Build robust business cases and support governance forums to secure investment and approval for future initiatives.
Present product strategy, roadmaps, KPIs, business outcomes and delivery plans to senior leadership and governance forums.
Support and coach Associate Product Managers and peers within the wider Product Management community.
Drive experimentation using qualitative and quantitative insights to optimise product performance and business value.
Define success metrics and monitor business outcomes including productivity improvements, cost reduction, service availability, operational efficiency and shrink reduction.
Champion Agile product management practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and outcome-led delivery.
Applied UX/UI principles and design thinking techniques to build products that are intuitive and effective for colleagues and operational users.
Leveraged qualitative and quantitative research techniques to understand user needs and validate product decisions.
Understand how different colleague, customer and stakeholder personas experience technology in different ways.
Write hypotheses and work directly with engineers, designers and analysts to validate ideas through experimentation and measurable outcomes.
Understand how enterprise-scale technology systems interact and can effectively monitor service health through metrics such as availability, resilience, uptime and performance.
Contribute to defining product vision, strategy and long-term roadmaps aligned to business objectives.
Have experience setting and monitoring OKRs, KPIs and value realisation measures.IActively engage with market research and industry trends to shape product direction and future investment decisions.
Skilled in using quantitative and qualitative data to inform product decisions and prioritisation.
Understand enterprise data platforms and can leverage data to improve operational decision making.
Understand the Product Management lifecycle and the importance of Agile methodologies in delivering incremental value.
Understand the importance of structured prioritisation frameworks and evidence-based decision making.
Have experience managing product roadmaps and building alignment across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Understand the importance of product roadmaps in creating buy-in, securing investment and driving organisational focus.
Understand commercial drivers, financial metrics, business cases and operational KPIs and can apply these when making product decisions.
Have experience partnering with Engineering, Architecture, Operations, Security and business stakeholders to deliver technology products successfully.
Can translate complex operational and business problems into clear product requirements and deliverable outcomes.
Have experience influencing senior stakeholders through robust analysis, business cases and data-driven recommendations.
Have experience monitoring product adoption and performance and taking action to improve customer and business outcomes.
Have led discovery activities for new products and features, defining and validating Minimum Viable Products (MVPs).
Have experience delivering products in complex enterprise environments involving multiple teams, systems, suppliers and external partners.
Understand governance, audit, compliance and investment processes associated with enterprise technology delivery.
Have experience identifying opportunities to reduce operational effort, improve colleague productivity and increase business value through technology.
