The Role:
As a Product Development Manager, you will bridge the gap between technical complexity and business value, working closely with both technical teams and senior leadership to turn technology into a competitive advantage. You will have the opportunity to lead a dedicated team in an environment that prizes proactivity and collaboration.
What You’ll Take On:
In this role, you will lead a dedicated squad of developers responsible for the core engine of our retail business: our central stock and inventory systems. You’ll oversee the end-to-end management of inventory accuracy, goods receiving and dispatch, stock location tracking and online order fulfilment.
In a fast-paced retail environment, these systems are critical; they directly dictate product availability, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. By maintaining relentless accuracy and driving project enhancements across these core platforms, you will directly ensure operational success and efficiency.
Your day-to-day will involve:
- Team management: Guiding a team of functional consultants and developers by setting clear sprint goals and managing resource allocation.
- Stakeholder partnership: Acting as a primary liaison for senior stakeholders, translating technical bottlenecks into clear business decisions.
- Governance: Proactively managing project budgets, documentation and risks to prevent issues before they happen.
What You’ll Bring:
We are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented professional who thrives in the ‘grey area’ between IT and operations. To succeed in this role, you will need:
- IT Project Management experience with a proven track record of driving projects through to completion.
- An eye for AI-driven innovation, actively seeking the next evolution in technology and rigorously assessing its efficiency to add value.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy across the entire project lifecycle from initial specification and test execution to formal sign-off and final delivery.
- A solid grasp of core operational and reporting requirements, with an understanding of Retail Store operations and processes.
- The ability to make the complex sound simple, whether you are talking to a developer or senior leadership.
- Cloud software solution experience paired with a solution-oriented mindset that remains resilient during busy periods.
- A proactive approach to teamwork and an unyielding commitment to maintaining high standards of delivery.
