Mechanical & Electrical Engineer
Central London | 40 Hours per Week | £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience
We're looking for an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Engineer to join our team as the dedicated resident engineer on a flagship Central London contract.
This is a resident role where you'll take ownership of the building's critical engineering systems, ensuring a safe, compliant and exceptional environment for our client and building users. You'll be the first point of contact for all M&E matters, building strong relationships with stakeholders while delivering both planned and reactive maintenance to the highest standards.

What You'll Be Doing
- Take full responsibility for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical systems across the site.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
- Diagnose and repair faults across electrical, HVAC, lighting, power, water and building services systems.
- Monitor plant performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency and compliance.
- Escort and manage specialist subcontractors carrying out maintenance and repair activities.
- Maintain all statutory compliance records, maintenance documentation and asset information.
- Build strong working relationships with the client, acting as a trusted technical advisor on site.
- Support the delivery of minor project works, upgrades and installations.
- Ensure all activities are undertaken safely and in accordance with current health & safety legislation.
About You
- Qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering through a recognised apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent.
- Proven experience working within commercial buildings, facilities management or building services environments.
- Strong knowledge of both mechanical and electrical building systems.
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience delivering both planned and reactive maintenance.
- Confident working independently and managing your own workload.
- Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach.
- 18th Edition qualification would be advantageous for electrically biased candidates.
