Lead Product Owner

PublishedPublished: 29/07/2026

We are looking for a Lead Product Owner to join our eCommerce Development team. Based at the Next Head Office in Enderby, Leicestershire!

The Role:

When it comes to UK retail, it’s hard to find a bigger name than NEXT. We sell thousands of items an hour and are rapidly expanding our online business.

As a Lead Product Owner within our eCommerce Development team, you’ll play a critical part in shaping the future of NEXT online. You will lead a core digital product stream and guide a team of product owners to deliver high impact digital vision.

Working closely with both business and systems teams, you’ll ensure our platforms are fast, reliable and customer focused, with all the support, training and development you need to thrive in a fast paced retail environment.

What You’ll Take On:

  • Take ownership of a product delivery stream, developing a deep understanding of the product, systems and end to end journey to drive meaningful outcomes.
  • Support the Head of Product/Product Channel Manager by translating strategy into actionable delivery plans, managing dependencies, and steering the broader product vision.
  • Coordinate phased approaches with business and technology teams to deliver early learnings and quick wins across projects.
  • Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements, translate them into actionable specifications and constructively manage trade offs and project risks to protect product value.
  • Lead and motivate a team of product owners, acting as a champion for Agile and SCRUM ceremonies to keep development teams progressing efficiently.
  • Shape key success criteria and use data, customer feedback, and deep analytics to put customer needs at the heart of every product decision.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A strong background in digital eCommerce and hands-on product ownership, ideally within a retail setting (or a proven ability to grasp complex product ecosystems quickly).
  • The ability to see the overarching strategy while understanding the technical and operational details of the end to end journey.
  • Thought leadership in the digital space, with a proven ability to motivate team members and run Agile/SCRUM methodologies effectively.
  • Excellent problem solving skills with an evidence based approach to defining success, spotting risks early, and finding clear solutions.
  • The confidence to present ideas, detail requirements, manage competing priorities, and build strong relationships across a range of stakeholders.
  • A positive attitude toward change, high motivation, and the resilience to stay organized and deliver great work in a busy, fast moving environment.

Ready to join a collaborative team and build a career you can be proud of? Apply now!
