What you'll be doing:
As a Project Manager – Data Migration at Boots, you will play a pivotal role in delivering on a large-scale enterprise HR data migration project. The Project Manager will lead the Data Migration and Archiving workstream within a major HR transformation programme. Reporting into the IT Programme Manager, this role is responsible for driving the successful delivery of all data migration, data archiving and legacy data retention activities required to support the implementation of HR Systems
The Project Manager will provide leadership across a complex landscape of internal teams, implementation partners and third-party suppliers, ensuring effective management of risks, dependencies and delivery commitments throughout the programme lifecycle.
The role is initially focused on mobilisation activities and the establishment of the Data Migration and Archiving workstream before supporting delivery through a multi-year implementation programme. The successful candidate will have significant experience delivering large-scale enterprise data migration projects and working within complex transformation environments.
Key responsibilities:
- Own delivery plan for the data migration and archiving workstream, coordinating migration, archiving and retention activities.
- Manage project plans, resource plans, financial forecasts and delivery schedules.
- Monitoring progression milestones, supporting migration rehearsals cutovers and post-go-live activities, managing risks and issues.
- Tracking and supporting relationships and delivery with HR Systems integrator and incumbent HR platform suppliers, holding all suppliers to account.
- Establish governance processes for the workstreams including risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies (RAIDs).
- Ensure compliance with programme governance, information security and change control requirements.
- Manage budgets, forecasts and actual costs, providing transparent reporting to all stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with HR leadership, partners and stakeholders, facilitating workshops, planning sessions and governance forums.
- Experience delivering large-scale enterprise data migration projects involving multiple source systems, complex dependencies and significant organisational change, ideally within HR transformations.
- Strong understanding of enterprise data migration, data quality and governance activities, testing and deployment planning, cutover and business readiness activities, data archiving and legacy system retirement, and vendor and Systems Integrator management.
- Experience working in environments involving multiple suppliers, implementation partners and legacy platforms.
- Ability to balance competing priorities and drive successful delivery within complex programme environments.
- Deep understanding of project delivery methodologies and governance frameworks.
- Experience with HR transformation and global HR deployments across multiple geographies.
- Project management qualifications such as APMP, Prince2, or MSP.
