Contract: Fixed-Term – 12 Months

What you'll be doing:
As a Business Analyst – Data Migration at Boots, you will play a crucial role in supporting a large-scale enterprise data migration programme for our HR Transformation. Working closely with the Data Migration Lead, HR stakeholders, Project Manager, Solution Architect, HCM Systems Integrator and incumbent HR platform suppliers, the role is responsible for analysing, defining and managing data migration requirements, data mappings, data quality activities, archival requirements and reconciliations required to support successful implementation.
The Business Analyst will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, ensuring that data migration requirements are clearly understood, documented and traceable throughout the programme lifecycle. The successful candidate will have strong experience of enterprise data migration programmes, complex data analysis and stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities:
- Work with HR, IT Suppliers and programme stakeholders to understand data migration and archival requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, data discovery sessions and mapping activities, translating business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications.
- Define data quality, validation and reconciliation requirements, ensuring they are complete, traceable and aligned to programme objectives.
- Facilitate analysis of source system data structures, data models and business rules.
- Develop and maintain source-to-target mapping documentation.
- Partner with Systems Integrator and incumbent suppliers to validate mapping and migration outcomes.
- Support testing, defect triage and business validation activities and assist with migration rehearsals, cutover planning and go-live preparation.
- Ensure requirements support GDPR, security and data governance standards.
- Support audit, compliance and reconciliation activities, maintaining traceability between requirements, mappings, test cases and migration outcomes.
- Communicate complex data concepts in business-friendly language.
What you'll need to have (our must-haves):
- Strong experience as a Business Analyst on enterprise data migration programmes involving multiple source systems, complex data landscapes, multiple suppliers and implementation partners.
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
- Deep understanding of requirements analysis, data analysis and data migration methodologies.
- Deep understanding of data discovery, profiling, data mapping, and ETL concepts.
- Experience producing high-quality requirements, mapping specifications and process documentation.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, complex environments and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to balance business requirements with technical and delivery constraints.
It would be great if you also have:
- Experience delivering HR transformation or HRIS implementation programmes.
- Familiarity with global HR deployments across multiple geographies.
