At Tesco, keeping our stores, offices and distribution sites safe for customers and colleagues is one of our highest priorities. As a Fire Service Support Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our fire safety systems remain compliant, operational and maintained to the highest standards.
Working as part of our Engineering & Maintenance team, you'll provide expert technical support for fire detection, alarm and suppression systems across our estate. You'll work closely with field engineers, contractors and technical specialists to diagnose issues, drive resolution and continuously improve the performance of our fire safety assets.

- Providing remote technical support to proactively diagnose and resolve fire-related maintenance issues.
- Acting as the first line of technical support for the Fire Technical Manager and field engineering teams.
- Supporting the delivery of Tesco's national Fire Risk Assessment programme.
- Using available systems and data to identify trends, risks and opportunities to improve maintenance performance.
- Collaborating with colleagues to optimise resource planning and engineer dispatch programmes.
- Building strong relationships across multiple teams and communicating clearly to manage expectations and drive solutions.
- Supporting the development and implementation of incident investigation and governance processes.
- Undertaking site visits when required to provide technical support and expertise.
- Helping to ensure all Tesco sites remain safe, compliant and operational for customers and colleagues.
- Monitoring maintenance performance and ensuring assets are repaired within agreed service levels.
- Placing customer, colleague and community safety at the heart of every decision.
- Maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation, standards and statutory requirements.
- Managing workload effectively whilst balancing operational priorities and business needs.
- Supporting a culture of continuous improvement, safety and service excellence.
- Experience within a maintenance, engineering or fire systems environment.
- At least 5 years' experience working within a relevant fire protection, engineering or maintenance role.
- Practical experience installing, servicing and maintaining fire detection, alarm and suppression systems.
- Strong knowledge of fire safety standards and regulations, including BS 5839, BS 5306, BS EN 54 and BS 9997.
- FIA (Fire Industry Association) qualification or equivalent training.
- Strong diagnostic, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working within a customer-focused, fast-paced operational environment.
- The ability to work collaboratively with field teams, contractors and technical specialists.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
