Job Description

What you’ll be doing
As a qualified Dispensing Optician, you will be providing a high level of customer care and expert advice to make a real difference to our customers and keep them coming back. You will work in one of our stores, reporting to the Store Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Providing clinical support in store for regulated dispensing
• Inspiring your Optical team by sharing your knowledge to offer the very best service.
• Listening to the needs of customers and offer expertise and advice.
• Helping our customers to choose the correct eyewear and offer guidance to ensure our customers receive the best product suited to their needs.
• Supporting the team to deliver an efficient model day and operational processes to ensure that the business trades legally.
• Providing expert knowledge for patients with more specialist requirements.

What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)

• Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)
• Passion for your own learning and development, completing all CPD training as part of the GOC requirement.

• Services delivered in store: This Boots Opticians store delivers exceptional patient care, supported by Optomap technology and an integrated Boots Hearingcare service. The store has 3 testing rooms and 2 dedicated Hearingcare rooms, with 25-minute testing times to support excellent patient care.

• Team structure: You will join a supportive and close-knit team of 15 colleagues, including 3 Resident Optometrists and an Assistant Store Manager/Dispensing Optician. The team brings a wealth of experience and is united by a patient-first approach, strong performance culture and shared goals.

Located in the heart of The Lexicon shopping centre, this store offers an exciting opportunity to join a thriving practice within one of Berkshire's premier retail destinations.
