Job Description

What you’ll be doing
As a qualified Dispensing Optician, you will be providing a high level of customer care and expert advice to make a real difference to our customers and keep them coming back. You will work in one of our stores, reporting to the Store Manager.

Key responsibilities
• Providing clinical support in store for regulated dispensing
• Inspiring your Optical team by sharing your knowledge to offer the very best service.
• Listening to the needs of customers and offer expertise and advice.
• Helping our customers to choose the correct eyewear and offer guidance to ensure our customers receive the best product suited to their needs.
• Supporting the team to deliver an efficient model day and operational processes to ensure that the business trades legally.
• Providing expert knowledge for patients with more specialist requirements.

What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)
• Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)
• Passion for your own learning and development, completing all CPD training as part of the GOC requirement.

We are looking for a Dispensing Optician to join us in our Isle of Wight practice!

This position is full time however, we are open to discussion around part-time hours, so would still encourage an application is you are looking for a part-time role; the typical working pattern is alternate full weekends (Saturday & Sunday) however, we are open to a conversation around days / weekend working arrangements.

This practice sits within a busy Boots UK store, alongside HearingCare; the practice offers an open and modern shop floor, 2 testing rooms that are nestled nicely in the back area of the practice.

You would be joining a dynamic, experienced team including two resident Optometrists – the team members have a great working relationship with the colleagues across the wider Boots UK / Hearingcare and the store has a real community feel.

We know it is no longer enough to just be doing eye tests, to this practice offers a plethora of additional services including; MECS, Cataract Post-op, Cataract Referral and Children’s Screening.

This practice sits along a bustling high street, offering great local transport links in addition to lots of affordable local parking!
