PublishedPublished: 14/10/2026
We're excited to be opening our brand-new Lichfield Distribution Centre in early 2027 and are now recruiting Control Tower Shift Managers to help build and lead our team from day one!

A customer's shopping journey doesn't end in store, and neither does our brand. Behind every great customer experience is a world-class supply chain and our new Lichfield Distribution Centre will play a vital role in ensuring products reach our customers when and where they need them.

This isn't a store. It's a fast-paced logistics operation where thousands of products will be received, processed and dispatched every day. As we prepare to open the site, we're looking for passionate leaders who want to be part of something new and help shape its future success.

We have opportunities available across both day and night shifts, offering the chance to play a key role in shaping the future success of M&S during an exciting period of transformation.

These are full-time positions working a 12-hour shift pattern, on a two-week rotating schedule.

These roles will lead a Control Tower shift and be accountable for delivering a consistent and efficient order and product flow across the site.

What you’ll do

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Manage Control Tower processes to improve the opportunity for efficiency, raising issues and engaging with key partners to resolve them while minimising the operational impact
  • Monitor system performance, ensuring that availability is maximised throughout
  • Undertake regular reviews of the Control Tower processes, making recommendations for improvements and efficiencies
  • Ensure root cause analysis is undertaken for nonstandard events and execute remedial actions to mitigate the risk of re-occurrence
  • Deliver performance reviews and develop succession planning within the department, identifying and nurturing talent

Who you are

Your skills and experience will include:

  • A detailed understanding of the functionality and operation of warehouse control systems with a good understanding of the end-to-end process within a Distribution Centre.
  • IT application knowledge – MS office applications and warehouse management/control systems (intermediate level)
  • A leader who consistently and continually inspires others to achieve the highest standards of performance and behaviour from themself and their team while creating an environment that enables Colleagues to deliver their best
  • Commercially focussed with an understanding of business and trade outcomes and the impact of these on other areas of the business.
  • Data driven and comfortable with using data to make informed decisions

Please note that we will operate a random Drug & Alcohol testing Policy at Lichfield.

What’s in it for you?
