About the role

As an Assistant Manager at Boots Opticians, you will lead and inspire your team to deliver an exemplary customer journey. You will play an important role within your store, working closely with the Store Manager, to create and deliver the commercial plan to help the business to grow and change for the better.

Working across the whole store, your days will be full of variety. You will be involved in everything from customer service, store operations as well as the clinical activities which include patient pre-screening, dispensing, accuracy checks and much more.

You will manage a team with a variety of experience and clinical knowledge, providing you with the opportunity to help them develop their knowledge, skills and shape their future careers. This also includes completing management tasks such as creating and maintaining rotas, return to work reviews and performance management.

We will support you in completing our industry leading ‘Step into Optics’ training programme along to help you to develop your clinical knowledge. With leadership training programmes also available, we are committed to helping you develop and carve out a career at Boots Opticians.

What you’ll need to have

• GOC Registered
• Experience working in a customer facing role
• Desire to learn
• Led or coached a team

Need To Know

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mobile Clinical ASM Dispensing Optician to join our Boots Opticians practices across Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft on a full-time, permanent basis (37.5 hours).

This is a unique twin-town opportunity, working across two well-established stores just 20 minutes apart, offering variety, development, and the chance to play a key role within the wider team.

The role & practice:
• Working across two practices (one freestanding, one within a Boots UK store)
• Both stores have two testing rooms and are equipped with OCT and Phoropter

The team:
You’ll be joining a friendly, experienced team of 10+, including two resident Optometrists and a supportive CLO, providing a great environment for both newly qualified and experienced DOs.

Working pattern:
• Flexible rota across 7 days
• Ideally includes Saturdays, with flexibility for alternate weekends

About the area:
Located in busy coastal towns, both stores benefit from a strong community feel and consistent footfall. There are local parking options and train stations within walking distance, making commuting accessible. Please note, driving is required due to travel between stores.
