Assistant Merchandiser

An established fashion retailer is looking for an Assistant Merchandiser to support their wider merchandising and buying team. They're looking for someone to help drive the commercial performance of their ranges, making sure the right product is in the right place at the right time. You'll work closely with the Merchandiser and Buying team, bringing strong numerical skills and a sharp eye for trade to maximise sales and margin.

In this role, you'll support the management of the WSSI, monitoring sales, stock and intake against plan and highlighting risks and opportunities. You'll produce weekly trade reports and analysis, identifying best and worst sellers and recommending actions such as repeats, cancellations and markdowns. You'll also help build range plans and option counts ahead of each season, and track open-to-buy to make sure the department stays within budget.

Your work will have a direct impact on the business. You'll liaise with suppliers and the buying team to manage the critical path and ensure deliveries land on time, working with allocation to get stock into the right stores and channels. You'll input into promotional and markdown activity, reviewing its effectiveness afterwards, and provide ad hoc analysis to the Merchandiser as priorities evolve.

You will be someone with experience as an assistant merchandiser within a fashion retail setting. You'll need strong Excel skills and a good understanding of merchandising principles such as WSSI and open to buy. You'll be organised, commercially minded and confident building relationships across buying, allocation and suppliers.

The role offers a £38,000 plus benefits package. The retailer is based in London, and you’re required to be in the office 4 days a week.
