What you'll be doing
Join the Boots Digital Implementation team in Nottingham and help protect the quality of digital experiences used by customers across web and mobile. As a UAT Assistant, you’ll support the Digital Assistant Release Manager with User Acceptance Testing, exploratory testing and regression testing across multiple environments, helping releases land smoothly and with the customer journey firmly in focus.
This is a hands-on role in a busy agile release environment, where you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to understand what’s changing, test what matters, and raise risks early. You’ll play an important part in supporting high-impact feature launches, peak trading events and go-live activity across Boots’ digital estate.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out UAT, exploratory and regression testing across Boots web and mobile platforms.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand release scope, requirements and customer impact.
  • Validate customer journeys across multiple test environments, identifying issues before changes go live.
  • Raise, track and retest defects, keeping the Digital Implementation team updated throughout the testing lifecycle.
  • Communicate risks, issues and impediments promptly to support clear release decisions.
  • Support out-of-hours testing when required, including go-live activity, overnight deployments and occasional weekend work.
  • Build knowledge of the systems, tools and integrations that support Boots’ customer-facing digital services.
  • Provide testing support across a range of digital release platforms within the wider Digital Implementation team.
  • Support peak trading events, feature launches and other business-critical digital activity.
  • Contribute ideas that improve testing quality, efficiency and the customer experience.
  • What you'll need to have (our must-haves)
  • Foundation ISTQB qualification.
  • Strong understanding of testing principles and practical experience across a range of testing disciplines.
  • Hands-on experience testing web and mobile applications or digital products.
  • Confidence identifying defects, patterns and trends, and using that insight to improve quality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain risks and issues clearly.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced agile environment.
  • Proficiency with JIRA and Confluence.
  • Ability to manage your workload independently, work to tight deadlines and support occasional overnight or weekend release activity when business needs require.
  • Comfortable working on-site in Nottingham.

It would be great if you also have
  • Experience in retail, e-commerce or another customer-facing digital environment.
  • Previous exposure to release support, go-live testing or peak trading events.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement, with ideas for making testing clearer, faster or more effective.
  • Curiosity about how systems, integrations and customer journeys connect across a large digital estate.
  • Confidence balancing structured test execution with exploratory thinking when release timelines are moving quickly.
