Reporting to: Line Manager
Hours/Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, rotating shifts 5 out of 7 days per week
Contractual Requirements: Candidates must be aged 18+ and willing to undergo a DBS check

We’re currently recruiting for an ambitious Apprentice Chef to join our team and help deliver exceptional experiences at Ashby De Le Launde on a full-time basis contracted to 37 hours per week.

As either an apprentice Commis Chef or Chef de Partie, you will work alongside a passionate and supportive team, gaining hands-on experience while developing your skills through structured training. On completion of the apprenticeship, you will either achieve the L2 Commis Chef qualification or the L3 Chef de Partie qualification taking the next steps in your hospitality career.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

• Prepare, cook, and present dishes to company standards and portion specifications.
• Ensure food is stored correctly to maintain quality and minimise waste.
• Assist with processing food orders and stock management.
• Receive, check, and store deliveries appropriately.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across kitchen and food preparation areas.
• Operate kitchen machinery and equipment safely and correctly.
• Adhere to all food safety, food hygiene, and health & safety procedures.
• Support the wider kitchen team with day-to-day operations and service delivery.
• Complete food safety checks and always comply with food information regulations.
• Undertake additional duties as required to support an efficient catering service.

Our Ideal Apprentice Will:

• Have a passion for food and working in a busy catering environment.
• Be a positive team player who works well with others.
• Be friendly, helpful, and professional in their approach.
• Hold a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Professional Cookery (or equivalent).
• Hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Be eager to learn and develop their culinary skills.
• Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to food safety, quality, and customer service.
