Sports Direct employees who were underpaid during the minimum wage controversy that surrounded the company, have not yet received back pay that they are owed for their shifts. Last August, an agreement was made to reimburse workers with roughly £11m after the payment practices were exposed. The payments were backdated to May 2012; therefore, some workers are owed amounts in excess of £1,000. Transline, one of the agencies involved in the scandal, has paid employees in payments backdated to 2014, however no payment has been made to those who were transferred over to the agency following their takeover of the contracts from rival agency, Blue Arrow.
