A report published by PwC, the business advisory group noted that almost 60% of consumers are concerned about how much of an impact Brexit will have on their disposable income, whilst 20% are concerned over their spending for the year in general. This follows a January in which British shoppers reduced their spend, in response to the rise in inflation and the fall in value of the pound, suggesting the economy is due to enter a slowed period of growth. Of 1,000 shoppers surveyed, 59% noted that the main reason for returning to a retailer was the price, which could indicate a reduction in brand loyalty over financial necessity to follow in the year.
