Welcome to 2015 and the first edition of The Retail Appointment this year!

Happy New Year and welcome to the first edition of The Retail Appointment for 2015.

With the fireworks and parties of New Year’s a distant memory, we’ve all been thrown back into the world of work with a jolt. At The Retail Appointment, we like to hit the ground running, so we’re already bringing you great ways to improve or change your retail career in 2015.

Firstly, we’re gearing up for another Retail Appointment Live following the unbelievable success of September’s event which was attended by well over 1,000 people looking to advance their retail careers.

With a great new venue at the Hilton London Metropole, a great new line-up of seminars and some great new names already signed up to appear, this event looks set to eclipse our last one and that’s saying something! Register here and be the first to know when we announce the next great retail name who will be recruiting.

In the magazine this issue, we have a great feature on what it’s like to work at B&Q. So whether you’re looking to work for B&Q or even if you’re not, find out all about them here.

We’re also running a feature all about the latest import into the UK fashion retail scene Lindex - a Scandinavian company that looks set to make a stir in the UK.

In our career advice section, we talk you through how to do the perfect SWOT analysis. This is something that you’re likely to come across when applying for another position, if you haven’t already, so it’s well worth reading up on.

Meanwhile, we have a great range of recruiters who are kicking their New Year recruitment into gear – including fashion retailers Gant, Kuwait-based Armada Retail, Pure Collection and Peacocks.

Meanwhile, M&S are looking for section managers and Moss Bros are seeking great store managers.

Other great retail names looking for store staff include H&M, Gap and Tu at Sainsbury’s.

In our leisure and hospitality section this issue, Coral are looking for managers and Pret are looking for assistant kitchen managers. Itsu are also looking for assistant managers and legendary chicken eatery Nando’s are hiring managers of all levels.

Have a look at the digital edition here, thumb through your copy if you’re a subscriber and look out for our teams delivering magazines to your store or head office over the next week.
