What's On in July

1st – 2nd July

4th July

Independents' Day Nationwide - www.nsaforretail.com

The National Skills Academy for Retail is teaming up with local retailers across the country to celebrate the annual celebration of independent retailers. The public will be encouraged to buy at least one item from a local independent retailer and celebrate diversity on the high street. The campaign will also champion the skills great independent retailers have and show the public that their local shopkeeper is not only a vital service, but someone who wears many hats; they are the accountant, sales assistant, buyer and often everything in-between.

4th – 6th July

V Delicious Olympia Grand, London - www.olympia.co.uk

V Delicious is a three-day vegan, vegetarian, and meat reducers’ food wonderland, filled with eating, drinking and culinary entertainment. With the very best retailers, restaurants and artisan producers in attendance attendees can discover new flavours, meet the produce makers, indulge in delicious hand-made delicacies and stock up on gifts, ingredients, goodies and products. Plus, the V Theatre will offer a line up of free-to-attend talks covering a host of topics from children's health and nutrition to the benefits of giving up dairy.

5th July

18th-19th July

Essex Festival of Food and Drink Braintree - www.ecfoodfestival2014.nmgl.co.uk

Over 120 producers will come together to serve up a giant feast, with local foods to sample, live music and events. The weekend will feature master classes and demonstrations as well as activities for children. New for 2014 is The Only Way is Local marquee sponsored by Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society who will bring together the excellence of their local producers to the festival under their Only Way is Local, Support your Essex Producer branding.
