Winter is coming...

Snowflakes

..and so is Christmas! With the retail sector gearing up for the festive season and less than 100 shopping days to go, many top names are beginning to recruit for Christmas sales assistants. Whilst many of the visitors to our site will be looking for more full-time positions, here is a round up of a few seasonal recruiters to pass on if you know someone who is looking for a part-time role:

John Lewis

The John Lewis Partnership is recruiting over 2,000 temporary sales assistants in the run-up to Christmas, with positions available across the county in a number of departments including the Christmas shop, furnishing accessories, homeware, fashion and electricals. The retailer is also on the hunt for a number of temporary staff to work in its distribution centres, where over 80,000 orders are expected to be processed each day in the weeks leading up to Christmas. The 24 sites, including John Lewis’s 650,000 sq ft flagship Magna Park warehouse in Milton Keynes, process orders for both its online business and its 39 shops.

Harrods

One of the world's most iconic stores, Harrods is the biggest shop in the UK, covering over five aces of space. This job is far from a picnic, though, with 15 million visitors each year served by more than 6,000 people in over 330 selling departments and 150 support areas. If this sounds interesting, Harrods are recruiting for Christmas staff on their site now.

Topshop/Topman

At Topshop/Topman, sales advisors are a really important part of the stores, acting as ambassadors for the brand and advising customers on what the key looks and latest 'must have' items are. On top of this, staff are offered an extremely attractive benefits package, with up to 25% discount on merchandise, at least 28 days holiday a year, pension, life assurance and a generous clothing allowance.

Selfridges

Christmas at Selfridges is usually quite a spectacular affair, with the staff expected to deliver world-class customer service and sales whilst also adding a healthy dose of festive cheer. Selfridges offers both full and part time vacancies over the period, working across early, middle and late shifts, including weekends. This is an iconic department store offering truly sparkling vacancies for the right candidates.

Debenhams

Debenhams have stepped up their Christmas recruitment campaign in a big way, offering vacancies nationwide. Celebrating its 200th year this year, the company is busy building its future, reporting great figures in its last set of financial results (http://www.retailappointment.co.uk/news/debenhams-will-meet-targets-for-the-full-year-) so this is sure to be an exciting time to join Debenhams - after all, you never know what it could lead to!

Boots

Ever popular at Christmas due to its good value 3-for-2 offers, Boots is a hive of activity around the Christmas holidays. As such, they're looking for dynamic and upbeat people to join their team. In one of the best packages for Christmas staff on the high street, even though it’s a temporary role you’ll also get all of the benefits that you would expect from working in a Boots store.
